Most of my adult life has been spent living in the rural countryside of Nebraska and traveling throughout the Midwest. Living in the country means I view the horizon all around me every morning, day and night creating open spaces for the wind to have free reign. This movement is shown through lively brush strokes that define the objects as well as the horizon line in my work. They actually become a distinct element in my composition as they dance around the surface. Color plays an important roll in my vision as well. Notice the layering of vibrant distinct colors that give the painting depth and a unique visual perspective.
My wish for the viewer is that they will be drawn in and compelled to take a closer look at their surroundings.
